The picture book follows Lupita and Papá while they work together to fix his childhood papalote in the hopes that it will fly again. Publication is scheduled for fall 2026.

The Courage to be Truly Free is a children's book that follows the journey of CoCo, a young zebra searching to discover who they truly are. Along the way, CoCo meets different animal friends who share lessons of friendship, courage, and acceptance, showing the importance of self-trust and the power of community.
The traditional hand-drawn illustrations, created with care and affection by a team of illustrators using colored pencils and mixed media, bring this colorful and welcoming world to life, filled with charming characters. Our goal was to craft images that convey lightness, diversity, and warmth, making the reading experience engaging for both children and adults.
More than just an adventure, the book celebrates the freedom of being yourself and the beauty of the differences that make us unique.

The Book Project "Histórias da Ajudaris 2022: A Água" is organized annually by the Portuguese NGO Ajudaris to fight daily against hunger, poverty and social exclusion. Children and Schools in Portugal team up with volunteer Illustrators and Character Designers all over the world and as a result we have many beautifully illustrated stories in a book to raise money for the project.
