Biography
Marina Oliveira Rocca is a children’s book illustrator and character designer from Brazil, sometimes also writing her own stories. She creates textured, mixed-media illustrations that explore the realms of imagination, dreams, and the little moments that bring joy to life.
Books and animated films have always filled her life with happiness, hope, and love, inspiring her to follow her childhood dream: to bring delight and wonder to others through her drawings and storytelling.
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Marina graduated in Visual Arts from PUC-Campinas University and trained with masters such as Paulo Ignez, Gonzalo Carcamo, Sidney Meireles, and Carlos Luzzi. She continues to refine her craft through workshops and dedicated personal study.
Her debut as a picture book illustrator, Papalotes, marks the beginning of her journey in children’s literature. Marina lives in Brazil with her husband, Vinicius, and their cats, Bonnie and Lizzie, surrounded by inspiration drawn from everyday life and the natural world.
